So I finished Outlander by Diana Gabaldon sooner than I expected. I realized on Saturday, when I only had about 25% left to read, that I didn’t have book 2 of the series. So I ordered it, and the other 5 in the series, right away. Well, I knew it wouldn’t arrive until today and there I was stuck on Sunday with nothing to read because I had finished Outlander at 2am the night before. (See my other post for my thoughts.)

So I grabbed what I knew was going to be a quick and easy read… Sam’s Letters to Jennifer by James Patterson. He is a prolific writer and has something for pretty much everyone from mystery to romance. I prefer the latter from him. It’s a very short book… ~250 very short pages and I finished it in about 2 hours. Maybe 2 1/2. It’s a very sweet story. There were times in the book where I teared up a bit… not a gut-wrencher or anything but I did use a couple tissues. They were both happy and sad tears. But the sad ones weren’t intolerable.

If you end up reading this book, I would also recommend Sundays at Tiffany’s and I hear that Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas is a great one too. It’s his most successfully selling novel to date, evidently. I have it too, and will pick it up next time I have a chance. These would make great travel reading because you could likely finish them on any average domestic flight.
